The Short Version

Your timer, detailed history, and settings live on your devices and in your personal iCloud. We receive a hashed device identifier, focus totals, and a small set of first-party product events to run leaderboards, the optional AI Work Coach, improve the app, and measure creator referrals. We do not run ads, sell data, or track you across other companies' apps.

What Data We Collect

We collect a deliberately narrow set of pseudonymous data:

  • Anonymous device identifier — a one-way hash of your device's vendor ID. It can't be reversed to identify you and isn't tied to a name, email, or account.
  • Focus statistics — minutes focused and completed-rep counts (daily/weekly aggregates).
  • Product interactions — events such as onboarding completion, timer completion, sharing, paywall views, and subscription starts.
  • Creator attribution — an optional referral code or creator handle when you arrive through a creator campaign.

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, task titles, or notes.

iCloud Sync

The app uses Apple's iCloud service to sync your timer state and focus-rep statistics across your devices. This data is:

  • Stored in your personal iCloud account
  • Encrypted by Apple
  • Accessible only to you
  • Not accessible to us in any way

iCloud sync can be disabled in your device's Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud if you prefer to keep data local to each device.

Local Data

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Timer duration preferences
  • Focus-rep statistics (number of completed reps, focus time)
  • Current timer state

Detailed local history stays on your device or in your iCloud. Only the limited totals and events described above are sent to our backend.

Third-Party Services

We use first-party analytics for the product funnel, but no advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking. The app uses:

  • Our backend (Vercel + Neon Postgres) — stores leaderboard entries and first-party product events keyed by your anonymous hash. Event-level growth data is retained for up to 180 days.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — process subscriptions and tell the app whether Pro is active. RevenueCat also receives the optional creator code so we can measure creator-to-subscription conversion.
  • Sentry — receives technical diagnostics such as app version, device and operating-system details, crash traces, and performance data so we can diagnose crashes and hangs. We do not intentionally send task names, notes, quiz answers, or advertising identifiers to Sentry.
  • Anthropic — when you enable the AI Work Coach, your weekly focus numbers (minutes and completed-rep counts only) are sent to Anthropic to generate your summary. Your anonymous hash is never sent to Anthropic, and Anthropic does not train on this data and retains API data only briefly. The Coach is off until you enable it (it names Anthropic at opt-in); turn it off anytime in Settings → AI Work Coach to stop all sharing.
  • Apple iCloud — syncs your timer state and stats across your devices, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The limited data described above is pseudonymous and is not tied to a name, email, or account.
